1. can you update your system and still have the .pkgs?
2. can you use the system after a new firmware is available?
3. bricked: how does this occur?
4. thats all i believe. :P.

1. Yes and no, you can update to 3.55 OFW (Official Firmware), and still run homebrew but, we think that when Sony release a new firmware, this will be patched and you will no longer be able to run homebrew.

2. Yes, you can update to 3.55 OFW, then install the new firmware (when it comes out/if it comes out). You might be able to go straight from 3.55 JailBreak, to the new OFW, but if not, it could result in bricking or something. No one knows yet though.

3. Don't really know. I think it's just with messing with it too much. Some people say you can brick it in the recovery menu when you try to upgrade to the jailbreak. I'm pretty sure that the PS3 once bricked, is unbrickable and I don't think anyone has actually fully bricked a PS3.

4. Okay Dokay Smile.

I'm pretty sure they might be able to determine your location, find your IP address, then ban all the account associated with it.
