Umm backups don't work to boot off the xmb or trick the ps3 into thinking your disc is your backup. Geo's firmware doesn't have peek/poke on so it wont do that like 3.41 did. The new firmware that came out today (Waninkoko's) does this but is VERY unstable bricks MANY ps3's and your will brick guaranteed since its the old model, and im guessing 20-60GB. Only way to get backups to work on Geo's is to play them with the .pkg method.
