You can't play backups from USB with this software*. To play backups you need a mod chip or jailbrek or PS3 break

But you're talking about downloading off the Internet. You need the original CD to do the backuping.

Btw how did you do it with the original CD? I've tried 5 legit CDs and it just loads a black screen

It also depends on what cfw your running, BM, and how you have the usb files set up. I've heard that the USB destination has to be GAMEZ before but not quite sure that will fix your problem since you haven't really given us much information on what your running.

Are you on Waninkoko's CFW? I just load them from multiman and when it says do you want to direct launch I press no. it boots you back to the XMB and there is another folder called /app_home/PS3_GAME and when you hover over that it should load up the game animation which confirms that you can boot it. (If that made sense lol) I can boot black ops from HDD but while there is another disc in the drive.

Running Waninkoko CFW I think it does have to be in a folder called GAMEZ thanks for that! Happy

Yes I'm using Waninkoko's CFW. MultiMan copies them to the HDD, but direct launch doesn't work and nothing shows up in /app_home/PS3_GAME
