it is the 3.0/2.0 2tb western digital my book essential one

i have formated it and formated it to fat 32 then fat 32 and ntfs i have tryied a mirco usb cable to see if it would work instead of the esata to usb tryed to force it to just 2.0
does anyone have any clue what i can do to get i working i just bought this about 4 hours ago and have been researching ever since to figure out how t get it to work any advice will be appricated

1) Does it work on your PC
Reason i say this is becuase i once tried a friends 1TB HD and we forgot to turn on the HD :jim:

2) Your HD might have to be installed
Becuase you cant really install programs except .pkgs onto your ps3 its fairly impossible for now. ( Just an example)

3) Read the HD Manual if it came with one?:catfight:

Format it with fat32 (with h2format). Test it on computer. If it works and on computer it shows FAT32, plug in your ps3. Be sure that hdd is running (noise or blinking led). If still not recognizing, try with another ps3.

I have a wd 500gb which never worked on my friend's ps3, but when I plugged it in to mine and then back to his ps3, it worked.

i have a 1tb HDD that was formatted in Fat 32 and never worked at all on my ps3 i decided to use it on my pc which it worked perfecty so i formatted my 320gb hdd for fat32 and plugged it in to my ps3 and it worked perfectly my guess at the time was that ps3 isnt built to handle anythin over 500gb

i did everthing everone said plus other forums tryed formating with ever thing on the web come to find out the problem was

the hard drive was 3.0/2.0 and the ps3 slim wont read the 3.0 at all so it wont work with it
i axctully got it to read some how some way idk 1 time thats it after letting it set and idk how i did it couldnt do it again
so i just went out and bought a 2tb iomega 2.0 usb external hdd and it works perfect and seems faster

ps: lol maybe 2tb is way to much for just a ps3 when most games are no more then 8gb but i am thinking what the heck 2tb time to go buy a wii again lol
