(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey everyone,

Quick question. I want to uninstall the CFW, so I installed the OFW back on my PS3, and it installed fine. (the ofw) I just read that I need to hold the power button until I hear 2 beeps to install the OFW. Is this true?

Yeah, but I have seen mixed responses. I installed the OFW without holding the power button.

First of all search the forum for post the same and you might find your answer, there has been so many threads on this topic.

and the procedure is Download the official PS3 firmware from the playstation website.

and follow this to put your PS3 in recovery mode..

1. Turn off Playstation 3.

2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.

3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps

4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.

5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button

6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

7. Put your USB in and install the OFW you downloaded

I did the exact same thing (on 320GB slim); although it did ask if I wanted to update despite it being "the same version" but it worked. Don't have the install package files option so I assumed its all good.
