Step 1 : download the firmwire 3.55

Step 2 : Go to USB make a PS3 folder now in that folder make a new folder named UPDATE (if you have a ps3 folder already then the only thing you have to do is the UPDATE folder)

Step 3 : Place the PS3UPDAT.PUP in the UPDATE folder that you have made

Step 4 : Plug your USB into your PS3

Step 5 : Go to system update in the main PS3 menu

Step 6 : Go to Update via Storage Media

it should say scanning and then it will say (Update data of the same version as the current system software was found. do you want to install the same version ?

i think that the only way they could bann us is if geohot loses the law suit because if he wins it will say that you can jailbreak the system idk if thats even close to being right or not .........advise

erm... wait didnt we say its saved in a kind of log-file what u had and what u didnt have on your PS3? So lets say the CFW was installed on it, then its in the log-file and it will be send to Sony no matter what u do...

I personally think sony wont do anything until after this lawsuit with Geohot is over, they don't want to lose then have to go back and un do all those bans and be like our bad, we were wrong. So if Sony DOES win, then expect some bans, but until then No one will be banned for CFW In my opinion.

Well I dont know then But before I do my update to 3.60 I am going back to 3.55 FW

That is a very good thought . And you probably right too

boot_history.dat is what i mean by log-file... so i dont think it will change anything if u go back to OFW without editing your boot_history.dat
