How to use Backup Manager on your PS3

[ame=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr23ghajqxc]YouTube - How to use Backup Manager on your PS3 with Geohot or Other CFW[/ame]

What you will need

  1. A PS3 on OFW (Official Firmware). If you aren't on OFW, you will need to revert. There is a tutorial on how to revert to OFW that I posted in the PS3 Exploits and Hacks section of the site, under the subcategory "Support".
  2. The firmware pack, which can be found You must login or register to view this content.
  3. A USB memory device, such as a Flashdrive or external HDD.
  4. Common sense
  5. WinRar

Tutorial

  1. Download my firmware pack. When you click the link, it will redirect you to adf.ly. Simply wait 5 seconds and press the Skip button in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  2. Decompress the .RAR file using WinRar. (If you don't have WinRar, use Google)
  3. Open the Wutangrza folder.
  4. Copy the PS3 folder over to the root (For those of you who are from NGU and don't know what root means, put straight on the drive with it not being in any folders) of your USB memory device.
  5. Go to your PS3 and put it in recovery mode. To do this, start with your PS3 in the standby mode (Red light). Press and hold the standby button until it cuts itself back off again. Now release the standby button. Now press and hold until you hear a beep, followed by 2 consecutive beeps and release the standby button. You are now in recovery/service mode. Scroll down to "System Update" and follow the on screen directions.
  6. Once installed, go back to your computer, delete the PS3 folder on your USB memory device, and copy the PS3 folder inside the Geohot folder to the root of your USB memory device.
  7. Now insert the USB memory device into your PS3 and update using the System Update tool under the settings menu, just like we did before.
  8. Once installed, go back to your computer and delete the PS3 folder on your USB memory device once again. Now copy the lv2.pkg and multiMAN.pkg to the root of your USB memory device.
  9. Go back to your PS3, insert your USB memory device, and under the Game tab on your XMB, click Install Package Files. You're going to want to install both of those PKG files.
  10. Once you're done installing, run the lv2 package file.
  11. Now run the multiMAN and enjoy using a backup manager!

If you cannot understand how to use this firmware, even after reading and watching my tutorial on how to do it, just give up. This is just not for you. You are more likely to mess something up than to get something good out of it.
