Right now im on Geohots 3.55 and I use PKGs to get downloaded games to run.. If I change to Kmeaw's CFW will I need to use PKGs? And will the games ONLY run off a backup manger of some sort?

ive heard of ppl bricking there ps3 bcuz they keep switching firmware;
i think geohots is gudd enofe but if you do change, go back to the OFW and then install the CFW. and do a virus scan on any file you put on your ps3 bcuz ppl r assho*es and put trojains and bullshit in files to **** your ps3

ok so u get an other folder ontop of called PS3_GAME that allows you to play back up games without a disc like Brother hood Red Dead..

You can play backed up games.


Meaning you could run games you downloaded from Torrents/any other site..

But i can already do that on Geohots....

Will they be accessable straight from the XMB, If yes, can I run downloaded games from that same folder without the need of a PKG?

Kmeaw allows:

• Backup managers work with not having to switch eboots
  

GeoHot's is:

So i can technically Download a game and run it straight away without needing to change EBOOT files or using a PKG?

yeah straight from the XMB and no u dont need a pkg u can just install the patch right when it starts...
