(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have a 40GB with CFW, and I have some games saved to the HDD. I don't wanna get those games again, but I want to update my HDD to 500GB. How would I back up the data? I don't have a USB that's big enough to handle all the files at once..I believe the biggest flash drive I have is 2 GB.

Get an external large enough to support your files.
And then from there, restore them onto your new hard drive.
Not as in-depth, but I could explain it more if you like, just let me know

Do a barrel roll!
Check in settings>system settings> and then backup utility I believe.

If I were you I'd do this, backup the gamesaves using a flash drive then backup the game data/game backups using the FTP server. If you have movies/music, etc put them again afterwards

420 seems as i'm always helping your newb ass. =D

You need to get another ps3.... maybe the second ps3 you were putting cfw on? put the new drive in there then you need a transfer cable just transfer it over and then put the new drive in the old ps3. Not sure what the steps are for the transfer cable parts.
