the main reason for this post is for the recovery of a lost password and email

1) Open up FTP Server on your PS3

2) Open Filezilla on your ps3 and connect

3) Now head over to /dev_flash2/etc/backup

4) At this stage you will be in the backup folder and you will see a file called xRegistery.sys



5) Drag this file to your desktop and open with your desired Hex Editor, prefferably HxD.

6) Now press Ctrl+F



7) A search bar should come up, Search for your PSN ID or the @ sign. You will then see your email and password.


For part 2 you need teamviewer and someone you dont like to much Just follow the above tut to get to their xsystem file copy to your desktop and get the info for all their accounts.

I don't fully understand. This is recovery only right? If you have the account info to another account you can just hack it without the need for the whole ftp transfer stuff. Please reply cause I'm a little confused on this.

Im taking a random guess that the only way the file keeps your password is when you tell the system to save it.
