HUGE NOTE: THIS THREAD IS BASED ON THEORY AND CURRENT TESTING, MEANING NOT EVERYTHING ACTUALLY WORKS, BUT EVERYTHING SAID IN THIS THREAD IS IN CURRENT TESTING AND IN RESEARCH AND WILL BE UPDATED DAILY

Note: I will be showing you how to view files and edit certain files, as some files are different when installing them, going by my guide will allow you to even edit textures and almost anything you want, as well goes for modding, BSA files are compressed folders, not files, so you will find the folders you need inside those files. do not give me credit on everything, i didnt create any tools or anything in my tutorial, all tools and mods are from nexus, all credit to them. & to all you mods out there who randomly delete peoples threads, i got this one backed up bitchs Happy now i can get all my rep.

ESP INSTALLING / FALLOUT.INI CODING
GUIDE

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evmrlXYsEgs&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

Note: Any ESP/ESM or anything you need to be loaded will have to be insterted here.

Step 1 - Run LV2.PKG before starting (LV2.PKG in Downloads & Tools)

Step 2 - Run MultiMAN, you will then backup your Fallout Game using MultiMAN

Step 3
- Go download a mod, ill be using the CHEAT TERMINAL MOD for my example.

Step 3 - When Complete, you will see on the bottom of your screen, a IP # on MultiMAN, that is the IP Address you will be using to connect to your computer to ps3.

Step 4 - Goto your computer and startup FileZilla, go to the "Host" bar at the top of your screen and type in your IP Address that you got from MultiMAN on the bottom of your screen on the PS3.

Step 5 - Click "Quick Connect" on FileZilla on your PC, you will get a set of folders on the right side now, goto "dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30500/PS3_GAME/USRDIR", Copy the FALLOUT.INI file to your desktop, now open it.

Step 6 - This is the file that you will be coding, scroll down till you see this.

    STestFile10=
STestFile9=
STestFile8=
STestFile7=
STestFile6=
STestFile5=
STestFile4=
STestFile3=
STestFile2=
STestFile1=FalloutNV.esm

Step 7
- This is where you will type out the file name, for example: I downloaded the Cheat Terminal ESP patch, i would rename it to something smaller with all CAPS, cause you will be required to rename your mods into ALL CAPS in order for your game to read it properly, i renamed mine to "DEV1.ESP", then add it to the list, which would end up looking like this

    STestFile10=
STestFile9=
STestFile8=
STestFile7=
STestFile6=
STestFile5=
STestFile4=
STestFile3=
STestFile2=DEV1.ESP <--- I Added Here
STestFile1=FalloutNV.esm

Step 8
- Now scroll down till you see a code that looks like this

    sEssentialFileCacheListE=DATA/FALLOUT - MISC.BSA, DATA/SYSUTIL/*.PNG, DATA/ICON0.PNG, DATA/PIC1.PNG, DATA/FALLOUTNV.ESM, DATA/FINAL_MASTER_XML.DAT, DATA/CREDITS.TXT, DATA/CREDITSWACKY.TXT, DATA/FALLOUT - MESHES.BSA, DATA/FALLOUT - SOUND.BSA, DATA/FALLOUT - TEXTURES.BSA, DATA/FALLOUT - TEXTURES2.BSA, DATA/SHADERS.BSA, DATA/VIDEO/*.BIK, DATA/MUSIC/BTTL/EVIL1/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/BTTL/EVIL2/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/BTTL/EVIL3/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/BTTL/EVIL4/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/BTTL/GOOD1/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/BTTL/GOOD2/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/BTTL/GOOD3/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/BTTL/GOOD4/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/CAESARSLEGION/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/CORPORATERUINS/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/DESERTEXPLORATION/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/FREESIDE/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/HOOVERDAM/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/INDUSTRIALCITY/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/JACOBSTOWN/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/LARGERTOWN/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/MOUNTAIN/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/LOC/NEWCALIFORNIAREPUBLIC/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/OLD/F01/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/OLD/F02/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/OLD/F03/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON1/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON2/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON3/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON4/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON5/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON6/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON6/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON7/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/DNGN/DUNGEON8/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/SCR/*.MP3, DATA/MUSIC/SPECIAL/*.MP3, DATA/FALLOUT - FACEGEN.BSA
Step 9 - Once you find it, you will look carefully at that code, you want to add the file names you added to the "STestFiles" to here also

    sEssentialFileCacheListE=DATA/FALLOUT - MISC.BSA, DATA/SYSUTIL/*.PNG, DATA/ICON0.PNG, DATA/PIC1.PNG, DATA/FALLOUTNV.ESM, (HERE) <-----
Step 10 - For example, i installed my CHEAT TERMINAL ESP MOD, by adding "DEV1.ESP", like this.

    sEssentialFileCacheListE=DATA/FALLOUT - MISC.BSA, DATA/SYSUTIL/*.PNG, DATA/ICON0.PNG, DATA/PIC1.PNG, DATA/FALLOUTNV.ESM, DATA/DEV1.ESP,
Step 11 - The reason i put it right after "DATA/FALLOUTNV.ESM" is because it can only run if it the mod loads right after the game,
Note: you will have to put "DATA/" before the name of the MOD, as this is how the game finds where the mod is so it can run it.

Step 12 - Now you are finished codding your FALLOUT.INI file, now you will put the CHEATTERMINA.ESP (Rename it to DEV1.ESP) to "dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30500/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DATA" on your FileZilla.

Step 13 - Now replace the FALLOUT.INI file with your edited FALLOUT.INI file in "dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30500/PS3_GAME/USRDIR"

Step 14 - You are now done, this is how you will install and code mods.

NOTE: You may add more lines to mod the game with, for example.

STestFile10=
STestFile9=
STestFile8=
STestFile7=
STestFile6=
STestFile5=
STestFile4=
STestFile3=
STestFile2=DEV1.ESP
STestFile1=FalloutNV.esm
Can be changed to

STestFile20=
STestFile19=
STestFile18=
STestFile17=
STestFile16=
STestFile15=
STestFile14=
STestFile13=
STestFile12=
STestFile11=
STestFile10=
STestFile9=
STestFile8=
STestFile7=
STestFile6=
STestFile5=
STestFile4=
STestFile3=
STestFile2=DEV1.ESP
STestFile1=FalloutNV.esm

Also if you want all the mods you have added to load in a single line in the sEssentialFileCacheListE you can put

    DATA/*.ESP,
instead of

    DATA/DEV1.ESP, DATA/DEV2.ESP, DATA/DEV3.ESP, etc

BSA FILE MANAGMENT

EXTRACTION PHASE

STEP 0 - RUN LV2.PKG on PS3
(IMPORTANT: You have to have this running inorder to launch or use file mangers properly)

Step 1
- You will need to make a backup of your game Fallout3 or Fallout New Vegas, depending on what you want to edit.

Step 2 - To backup your game, simply take the backup of your HDD0 from your PS3 that you are connected through FileZilla, simply drop somewhere to your liking.

Step 3 - You will need a program called FOMM "Fallout Mod Manager" (Look on the downloads page)

Step 4 - After installing FOMM, you will then goto where ever you backed up your game, goto the "DATA" folder of that game and right-click on a .BSA file you want to edit, (I'll be using FALLOUT - SOUND.BSA as an example), you will then click "Open With..", then click "Browse", then in the search bar, type "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Fallout Mod Manager" then press ENTER., now click "BSA Browser", a pop up should appear, click on the game u are editing, then press (ok). (Example Pics Below)

You must login or register to view this content.
You must login or register to view this content.
You must login or register to view this content.

Step 5 - You will then need to make a folder somewhere, (this is where you will be extracting the BSA file you want to edit)
NOTE: Dont Extract NO MORE THEN 1 BSA FILE PER FOLDER YOU CREATE, AS YOU WILL MIX EVERYTHING UP AND SCREW UP! YOU NEED TO BE ORGINIZED!

Step 6 - Go back to the BSA Browser that you are viewing your file with, and click "Extract All", now extract it all to the specific folder you created for this file. (Example Picture Below)
You must login or register to view this content.

Step 7 - Now you have success in viewing the BSA file Happy, hurray! you can change the music by downloading puting a song on your computer and renaming it to one of those songs in there and replacing it (The ol easy way), or you can do some coding and stuff, Nexus has plenty of things you can download.

PACKING PHASE

Step 1 - The most easy part of the job is packing the files back together

Step 2 - Goto your Start Menu, Programs, "Fallout Mod Manager", then open "BSA Creator".

Step 3 - After you have done what ever you have wanted to your files, you will then click "Add Folder(s)", now you will look for your "Extraction" folder, you will click on the extraction folder (add it), do not go inside the "Extraction" folder, as this will not work, you will add the "Extraction" folder it self.
NOTE: DO NOT EXTRACT NO MORE THEN 1 BSA FILE PER EXTRACTION FOLDER, IF YOU DO THIS YOU WILL MIX ALL OF YOUR DATA UP AND SCREW YOUR BACKUP.(Example Picture Below)

You must login or register to view this content.

Step 4 - Now click "Create", now look for a location where you want to create this BSA file, (Rename it to the file that you are replacing it with on your Fallout Game)
Note: Please wait atlest 5min-1hour depending on the size of your file and the power of your PC, you may experince some lag on your computer, this is normal, its the "BSA Creator" that is packing the file together.
NOTE: It toke me about 5-10min to pack my sounds not even that prolly shorter, and im using an "HP s5000 Series"

Offical Step 5 - Updating... (In Testing and Research)
Step 5 Theory - You will now put/replace your newly created file into your game "DATA" using filezilla, (This is the game that you are launching) N

Offical Step 6 - Updating... (In Testing and Research)
Step 6 Theory - Now you are done, everytime you launch your game, it will be modded normally like this.

NOTE: Here is a video below to help, also i give you a MP3 Converter, ALL ORIGINAL FILE FORMATS DO NOT CHANGE IF YOU ARE REPLACING.

For the short version of using my example:

Step 1 - Create a folder on your desktop called "SOUND EXTRACTION FOLDER".

Step 2 - Extract your FALLOUT - SOUND.BSA to your new "SOUND EXTRACTION FOLDER"

Step 3 - Edit/Mod what ever you were doing, leave original formats the same though*

Step 4 - Open "BSA CREATOR"

Step 5 - Click "Add Folder(s)", look for your "SOUND EXTRACTION FOLDER"

Step 6 - Click Highlight your "SOUND EXTRACTION FOLDER"

Step 7 - Click "Ok"

Step 8 - Click "Create"

Step 9 - Save file as "FALLOUT - SOUND"

Official Step 10 - Updating... Currently i am researching
Step 10 Theory - Replace original in your backup using FileZilla

~Sorry, currently everything is based on theory past Step 9
~

Other Theories Below

Theory 1 - By

Maybe this could lead to something

Theory 2 by You must login or register to view this content.

here is a line on the footer of the file that shouldn't be there, modifiyng the BSA with an Hex editor at the fourth byte changing 68 to 67 i got to work the bsa with bsacmd which is aprog to open the BSAs from oblivion, and that line wasn't there, here's a screenshot You must login or register to view this content.
Note by Romen - Im guessing if u use the hexEditor, you could fix this problem by simply fixing the code by using the original to the new file.

whenever i repack meshes and textures back in when i start i get a black screen =( why is this ? i added things from fallout nexus into it i dragged the meshes into meshes for meshes BSA and replaced it and same with textures

EDIT read:
i think i know why i got the black screen whenever you recreate a BSA you click on the folder MESHES right? not the folder you extracted it to i think that's what i did ... click the folder i extracted to... and also there are two things it extracts from meshes a folder called meshes and a folder called trees so i chooses both of those folders and click create? then wait an hour then put back on VIA ftp? if im wrong correct me

obviously my thread isnt good enough, ill update my thread on this but here you go

You have to pack(Create) the first folders that the file decompressed too.

For Example:

I extracted my FALLOUT - SOUND.BSA, the extracted folders that came out started with the folder "sound", i edited what ever i edited, then i opened "BSA Creator", then i click "Add Folder(s)" and then i click on the main folder holding everything which would be "sound".

The Extraction folder does not count as being the main folder, that is the Extraction folder you extracted too, for example, what if my desktop was my extraction zone, i would not use my "Desktop" as a folder to add. (Obviously), i would be using the main folder that was extracted.

ESP INSTALLING GUIDE

Step 1 - Install Multi Man onto your CFW PS3 to the CFW you have. Then run Multi Man and back-up your Fallout New Vegas to your HDD.

Step 2 - When you are finished, Multiman should go back to its menu.

Step 3 - At the bottom of MultiMAN it gives you an IP Address (For Example "192.168.1.1"). Copy that down and go to your computer.

Step 4 - Install FileZilla to your computer and go to the "Host" bar at the top of your screen and type in your IP Address, and if you have problems connecting put port number as "21" .

Step 5 - Go to "dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30500/PS3_GAME/USRDIR"

Step 6 - Open the FALLOUT.INI I gave to you in the beginning of this thread and open it in Note Pad.

Step 7 - Minimize FALLOUT.INI and Assuming you downloaded some .esp files from You must login or register to view this content., rename them all in capital letters (For Example, if the file name was cheatterminal.esp, rename it to CHEATTERMINAL.ESP).

Step 8 - Go back to the FALLOUT.INI you opened in Note Pad and you will see something like this

    STestFile10=
STestFile9=
STestFile8=
STestFile7=
STestFile6=
STestFile5=
STestFile4=
STestFile3=
STestFile2=
STestFile1=FalloutNV.esm

Add your renamed .esp files there like so,

    STestFile10=
STestFile9=
STestFile8=
STestFile7=
STestFile6=
STestFile5=
STestFile4=
STestFile3=
STestFile2=CHEATTERMINAL.ESP
STestFile1=FalloutNV.esm

Step 9 - When you are finished with putting the .esp file names in the STestFile spots, hit CTRL+F and search for this,

    sEssentialFileCacheListE=

Step 10 - When you locate the "sEssentialFileCacheListE=", you want to also add the .esp names there. You will do this by putting "DATA/" and then the name of your .esp file in all caps. If done correctly it should go from looking like this

    sEssentialFileCacheListE=DATA/FALLOUT - MISC.BSA,

to this,

    sEssentialFileCacheListE=DATA/CHEATTERMINAL.ESP,
DATA/FALLOUT - MISC.BSA,

Just a reminder, when you are adding to the sEssebtialFileCacheListE, Make sure you write "DATA/NAMEOFFILE.ESP, " You need a space after each "," or it won't work.

Make sure you put the .esp files before "DATA/FALLOUT - MISC.BSA" or the mods WILL NOT work.

Step 11 - Save the edited FALLOUT.INI and drag and drop it into the "dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30500/PS3_GAME/USRDIR" folder so it copies over the original FALLOUT.INI

Step 12 - Go to
"dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30500/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DATA" and add all the renamed .esp files into the "DATA" folder.

Step 13 -When you dragged and dropped the modded FALLOUT.INI to replace the old one and added the .esp's to the "DATA" folder, you can close FileZilla, and goto your ps3 and now you can run your Fallout Backup.

Note: You can add more lines to this,

    STestFile10=
STestFile9=
STestFile8=
STestFile7=
STestFile6=
STestFile5=
STestFile4=
STestFile3=
STestFile2=STestFile1=FalloutNV.esm

for example, if i wanted to use 18 other mods, i can simply add more lines to put those modes on, (Example Below)

STestFile19=
STestFile18=
STestFile17=
STestFile16=
STestFile15=
STestFile14=
STestFile13=
STestFile12=
STestFile11=
STestFile10=
STestFile9=
STestFile8=
STestFile7=
STestFile6=
STestFile5=
STestFile4=
STestFile3=
STestFile2=CHEATTERMINAL.ESP
STestFile1=FalloutNV.esm

You can add more lines if you want, the max amount is unkown, i havnt tested it, this information came from the user ~ HUYI82

The most mods i have tried is up to 3 mods at a time.

[multipage=BSA File !README!]

BSA README

BSA Editing allows you to step into the realm of what a PC can do to its game (Complete Modification) other known as complete control of your game, meaning you can add or edit textures, add or edit radio stations, make your own quests, own companions, you could even merge fallout 3 with this game (plosable)

First before starting, i want you to only extract one BSA file into 1 folder each, im saying this because you do not wana mix your extracted BSA files/folders up. I do not hold responsibility for you ruining your back up, you should use my guide accordingly

When ever you pack(Create) a BSA file, you will add the FOLDER that was extracted first, unless it was abunch of files and folders. Do not add the folder you used to extract too, its everything inside your extraction folder that you are using.

Just to clear that up for you all.

[multipage=BSA File Managing & Editing]

BSA FILE MANAGMENT

EXTRACTION PHASE

Step 1 - You will need to make a backup of your game Fallout3 or Fallout New Vegas, depending on what you want to edit.

Step 3 - After you have done what ever you have wanted to your files, you will then click "Add Folder(s)", then you will look for your Extraction Folder, inside your extraction folder you will click the main extracted folder(s)/file(s) "Meaning everything that was extracted first", nothing more then that, dont add anything inside the folders cause everything inside them will be added apon adding the folder anyways.(Example Picture Below)

Step 5 - You will now put/replace your newly created file into your game "DATA" using filezilla, (This is the game that you are launching)

Step 6 - Now you are done, everytime you launch your game, it will be modded normally like this.

I dont give a shit if you edited my thread and added more lines to it, It took a long ass time to compile a list of add ons that are compatible for the PS3 version of FONV, and I want credit. And once again, I found out how to use more then 9 lines, and TESTED IT. I want credit for both the list of add ons, and the other thing you gave credit to HUYI for.

Here is the thread I found it in, and you even replied to me, as did HUYI:

I want an apology for not giving me credit also, this is ridiculous.

Im not going to say sorry for something i edited from someone elses work, when i already knew about it before you even posted it and before that thread you posted was even up yet, actually the only reason i went to your thread was because i wasn't willing to rewright a tutorial on ESPs again, but now im in the mood too. and either way, this thread has everything in it about modding Fallout 3 and New Vegas, i just completed that game on modding, and now i plan on moving too Mass Effect 2 in a few days.

Btw.. My edit didnt use BlackBox, cause BlackBox leaves traces you dont know about, yet Multiman leaves logs you can delete. thats why i suggest Multiman
