(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Installed 3.55 jailbroke it no problems installed lv2 patch no problems installed backup manager no problems copied game over to HDD no problems but can't open it from HDD it gives me the list of games and you click launch and it kicks me into the XMB menu and no disc appears.. ive tried using a disc from a different game to boot it but when it kicks out the game comes up the same one not the one from my HDD ?
I have tried gaia manager backup manager backup manager v2 and comgenine.. help?

try using regero.

It copies to the HDD but after that wont open it kicks me back to the XMB

same here im using the same cfw,ok this is what i do once i copied the games over to my external hard drive i put another game in the drive this is purley to make sure the backup works,now i use regero so i go to the game i want to star it then puts me to the xmb then the game you clicked to start should show in the aps home folder by hovering over it it should show up,then i go down to the disc part and now that should be the game you want to play.
some game can work with direct boot which you have the option in the backup manager but even then some games still boot you to the xmb.
this method works for me,sometimes you will get a black screen like i have on mw2 but not to worry most game do work and if they dont there are peeps to help out in getting them going,also look out for games that have one big file they wont backup staright to the hard drive like dead space and red dead redemption.

aps home folder won't open for me.. dunno why it gives me an error code..?

you need a game in the drive it needs this to boot from,in regero press the button to start the game it will the go to the xmb then go to the disc it should be the game you want to play from the backup manager.
ok so i put simpsons game in my ps3 go to regeo press start game say little big planet 2 it will go to the xmb now the simpsons game has changed to little big planet 2 click on this the game will then start simple as that.

Im aware you need a game in but it doesnt change you see it stays as the disc not the file from hdd

i dont like giai and multiman freezes my ps3 for me so i have stuck with rogero.

I am KIND OF having the same problem.

I am using gehots 3.55 CFW.

I have black box FTP, I have Open manager and I have multiman.

My bluray drive is dead ( has been for awhile...won't read discs or recognise them or anything).....anyhow...

I got a copy of red dead redemption online,I ftp'ed it over to my PS3, put it under the HDD0 and into my GAMEZ folder.

I can open up either multiman or open manager and I can see the game ( it says red dead redemption and has a picture of the game and all that).....when I click on launch the screen goes black for a few seconds and then kicks me back to my XMB......

no disc icons or anything like that are present.

also I do not have the "app/home" folder that was mentioned....I only have an install package folder.

I have noticed when I try to install some packages that they give me an error message and will not install (gaia manager,muliman 1.14.02 and a few others will not install.).

anyone have any input that could help me get this figured out? I would really appreciate it.

I was in the jailbreak scene a few months back but almost bricked my ps3 so I waited it out and stayed out of the loop of things until recently when the jump drive jailbreak came out and I was able to jailbreak my ps3.....so now I have to do some catching up and I am not 100% sure if I am doing things right.
