i would say that the bricking works( but i did it through factory mode on 3.50 fw) so u can 100% downgrade your ps3 it is possible.

i will evntually try that method but its too risky for me right now ,,,, to brick their is several ways ,,,, like while installing or downloading anyupdate pull the power cord ,,, i think if u try installing old cfw itt will brick too,,but i think bricking ur ps3 on purpose is stupid

i know one way to brick 
. you have to be in the middle of installing (NOT DOWNLOADING BUT INSTALLING) something like a firmware. then while it is installing, rip the power cord from your ps3. if it works, wen u turn ur ps3 back on, it should be a black screen or sumthn. this could take anywhere between 1 and 1000000000000000 tries. +rep if i helped in anyway
