Post: Double 3.56 Update Glitch?

I wanted to check if there were any new firmware updates...when I checked, it said update 3.56 was available for download. But the strange thing is....im already on 3.56...
Heres the video I took with my phone so dont blame my quality :carling: ooh yh i have a xbox theme on ps3...why? i like the sounds

I don't care if you knew this before anyone posted it here?
The point is the guy wants to know if he should update or not, this is in the exploits and hacks section so I am assuming he is on custom firmware therefore he should NOT update, if he is not on CFW and he is on OFW 3.56 he should still not update because there is no reason too; like I said its an update glitch, if he already is on 3.56 there is no reason to re-install it.

Ok what happens When a new firmware is released? Sony change the update.txt file on there server update playstation.net (update/ps3/list/us) then all the ps3 systems connecting to PSN will check that update.txt file and see there is an update then the ps3 knows to look in a directory on the server for the update once you have updated your ps3 will match up with the update showing in update list.txt so your ps3 wont ask u to update anymore That Does not mean that sony take down the update because the update is still left on the server with the update list so the ps3s that havnt connected will still check (this is why we use DNS or proxy) the update still being there means that when you go and check in settings it will still show guys its just common sense
