As you can see im already running the 3.56 firmwire and nothing is in the usb ports except for the controller cable, and i go into system update via internet and 3.56 is there?

update via usb goto playstation.com and download it...
heres instructions

create a file in the usb called PS3
make a folder in that called UPDATE
save the downloaded file from playstation.com to the UPDATE folder
plug the usb into your ps3
goto system update
click via media device or something along that line
select the 3.56
accept TOS
restart ps3
there you go, 3.56 should be working

*Caps are sensitive in folder names

Yhea sony can sukk @ on fat 1.

It's 3.56 v2 basically, it fixes the HDD upgrade issues that people have been having.
