1. Will my ps3 overheat if i leave it on too long?
2. How long more will it take?
3. Is there anyway to pause it?

You gotta leave it on... your PS should be fine. If you play GT5, there's an endurance race which is literally 24 hours, meaning you have to leave it n for 24 hours to finish it. Your only doing about 6 hours, you should be :y:

I used gaia manager just last night to backup my mass effect 2 and it took 8 minutes, it also depends on which ps3 your using (as they have different hard drives and can vary in read/write speeds) although hdds are very similar, i found multiman the worst to backup my games, and gaia the best.
If you have changed your hdd yourself it may have something to with the rpm, go for a 7200rpm if you do ever change it, goes a bit quicker for me Smile

Same issue with me as well.. i've used Multiman, Rogero, and even Gaia to backup mass effect 2.. but it takes 3-5 hours to transfer just 6Gb. I believe there's a total of 30Gb minimal. Another 10 hours to transfer....

Rogero Manager DID state this game has lots of small files and will disable the transfer status bar to help speed things up... (note: it helped a little.. not much tho)

Currently using a stock 120gb [toshiba] PS3 Slim console...
oh boy this is slow... anyone else having this problem?

'can't wait to replace my stock hdd with my new Samsung Spinpoint MT2 1TB 2.5" hdd...hopefully this hdd will be more efficient and speedy.

P.S. Just realized, there's a lot of localization files.. in 5 different languages to transfer.. no wonder....

[edit] I stand corrected.. it was about 10gb total.

No problem, your PS3 can be turned on more than 24 hours. My PS3 is always on. Last time I turned it off was 15. Desember.
