MAC is hard coded to hardware not software you can change the number on a file all day still won't make a difference since the MAC is hard coded into the board either buy a new ps3, a new board, or accept ban however if it got banned from school they are probably simply blocking it server side in which case I would just spoof the ip and see if that works simple process just google it. Sorry I work on a campus and I have to ban people all the time. Just my 2 cents though... I mean they can block your mac but it doesn't necessarily say ps3 on the server and to ban a MAC you usually gotta screw up pretty bad. Do you use the port its connect from for anything else? Is it connected via wireless router? Did you try just changing from wireless/wired to the opposite? Try all that first then get back to me peace!

FFA just change ur wireless card inside ur ps3, your wireless card stores ur mac address, if u change ur wireless card u change ur mac address, and just to let u know they don't ban ip address as they can change!! Using a wired connection will also change ur mac address, only if uv been using wireless connection, the same the other way a wireless connection will change ur mac when you have been using a wired connection,

I don't think wiring your connection will change your MAC Address.... didn't you hear what the other guys posted?

Maybe MAC Spoofing could work in any way?
Cant be changed directly though, its HARDWARE based!!
For example you cant hex edit a 4400+ processor to a 6600+.
