well when I update from a cfw I didnt do anything other than just check for update


edit: no you dont losethe update via usb

do this
3.55 cfw -> 3.55 Original Firmware -> 3.56
Note:
once you update
you can not use homebrew even if there is a cfw because this new update watches to see if you run Homebrew and they WILL ban you
Also:
some people lost the ability to update via usb
but im pretty sure the went from cfw to 3.56 skipping the important part

the new mw2 patch will be out soon
and if you update it will override you modded patch
so wait for the new patch
once we mod it
if we can
put in on your ps3
make a backup of your ps3
then update then restore to your backup then the only way you can lose you modded patch is if a 1.13 patch comes out but i highly dont think they will
