So if you took the 3.55 OriginalFirmWare and renamed it to 3.56/ or 3.57 then see if you can update and install it succesfully. If it worked then the next thing should be easy!
So after that take a 3.55-JB (CustomFirmWare) and rename it to 3.56-JB/ or 3.57-JB (whatever you named the originalfirmware the first time) and see if you can update and install THAT succesfully, too. If it worked than holy crap thats awesome LOL....

Because im a very careful and non-risk taking person since i only have one ps3 and my mom would never buy me another one so i have to be careful.

dude, if it really were that easy, everybody would have done it by now, besides people have already tried that and it usually just stops at 70% then an error pops up

you cant just rename it....it involves signing, decrypting keys and much more

I've tried to do this. it cannot be done, When you Change the name to 3.56 - JB It'll start the download and just stop and freeze ur ps3. i've tried it before and i will not do it again.
