all these are set to the hard drive that u edit these files and not the system its self so do watever but wen u crash it re format it so have fun

Make a back up of your dev_flash before attempting anything with writrable flash (PS3 Firmware) slightest mistake could cost you your ps3.

If you do brick, and it blinks when doing so, boot into recovery and re-flash your current firmware – 3.55

1: Download AsbestOS 1.4 & install.

2: Run It. Leave it to install, no HDD light will flash while installing, so you’ll have to just wait untill it finishes.

Once its done it will have PRESS [X] TO QUIT Or something, also you will get an error stating that it could not inject something into LV2 – IGNORE the error.

3. Now go to Comgenie and there you will have another folder saying rwdev_flash.

u will see all there now and be able to edit things in the and overwrite n delete!

wen u move files from dev_flash they are hidden from windows but are able to be opened by programs, just use ftp server to transfer files u would like and then u can edit them. then transfer ur edit files to fwdev_flash from USB or FLASH drive and then restart and see wat happens


be aware u can screw it all up!

go somewhere else to find out how to open coldboot.bin to access ur ps3 startup to Kustomize it.

also editing the version.txt does not work, its almost like its usless to even have on the ps3
but it might work for games saying u need to be up to date firmware to play or watever

tried tried the version.txt changed everything in it that said 3.55 to 3.50 to see if that did anything - nothing just to make shure if it had any problems, so then i tried 3.56 doesnt do anything no online bypass, not shure if it lets u play a game where u have to be upto date cuz i havnt met a game thats higher than 3.55
