Post: kha0S Linux v3.0 Released

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); kha0S has released kha0S Linux v3.0. What is this? Basically this is a modified version of Linux which brings many changes/updates/modifications to AsbestOS making AsbestOS much smoother and easier to work with. It allows features such as dual partitions on a single USB drive (and actually works), with as much capacity/space your drive can handle.

The project is actively being worked on, but from the looks of it, it is heading in the right direction and you can bet this is will become the next best OtherOS for PS3 users.

- Changed ext4 mount options from default to noatime (decrease IO to disk).

- Created swap file (128M). General PS3 system response feels smoother.

- Installed ftp server (proftpd) – login with ps3 user

- Added ps3 user to sudoers

- Installed ps3-utils package

- Installed locales-all package

- Fix for date/time problem. Installed ntpdate package. Sync date/time with: ntpdate pool.ntp.org

- FIX: Remove IPv6 kernel modules (causing some kernel Oops). Fixed ssh server crash at boot.

Can someone please explain me how having linux on your ps3 is useful ?

What can you do with it ? programs ? games ? please explain.

it just turns your ps3 into a pc running linux rather than windows, imagin it as a pc then you will no what you can do, pluss you can boot back to the ps3 system when your finnished

back in the old days when otheros was on ps3 i had linux yellowdog installed with vlc media player, homebrew games, internet connection, firefox explorer, music films games, etc, its good fun for wen your board of gamein

yea.... if thats all, i guess it may be useful for a very limited ammount of people that don't have a pc in their house lol.

Looks sweet but im not committed until iv seen what graf_chokolos final release is like.
Fingers crossed for dual boot in a cleaner way than asbestOS. I mean kudos to these guys but grafs should be more noob friendly
