im not sure but ive been runnin linux on my pc and for replacing the certificate i would think that ftp will do it but its wether you can write the file over the 1 already there

yes you do ,you can use it in Vm ware tho, so no need to uninstall windows.

Are you high?
If you dont have 2 pcs at home, install virtual box on your pc. Then install ubuntu on a virtual machine. You dont need to install linux on ps3.
