You knew what you were doing before you did it and you knew the risk. I'm tired of people saying "OMGAWZ!! WILL I GET BANNED??! :O" Banned from what?!! PSN?? You were already "technically" banned when Sony stopped the old DNS bypass and you were unable to get online. If YOU got banned from psn for using the new bypass, then lots of other people would have gotten banned too. And we would be back on the forums to find another way to get back onto psn. Besides, the ps3 attempts to connect to 2 ssl servers sometimes.

They have still many tiny things they can query to check the version.

And if they are really smart, they alter the check in a new version, new check not working, upgrade needed

It will and stay a constant battle. And sony needs to battle it, or game dev's will stop making games for the ps3. and no new games for our ps3 is a dead system.
