(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey People let me just start by saying i usually post in the right section

This could be classed as a question. However i am asking for the community to try and come up with a solution to this one and i hope it will help everyone.

Basically everyone is doing the DNS trick on CFW to bypass 3.56. There are people who are doing it ok and people who cannot get on at all. Is there a way or can anyone offer any advice to set up this so it can be hosted public? I have a webserver local and a public. If we can get it going then its just a matter of the user changing their CA24.cer and connecting

Good result I think this will work but i wonder how it will work with more that one connection ?

I can only guess that its mostly just incoming requests so cant see it being a problem the old dns trick worked ok once charles is set up to all regions it should be ok in theory

The new CFW is just KMEAW with CA24.cer installed on flash.

Still need PC running Charles etc
Its easy enough, theres about 20 tutorials on NGU alone lol

He's smart enough to know that.. The reason for this thread is so that if someone has a server we could test a few methods and try to connect to psn through that server if we figure it out as a community..

Read the main post again before "trying" to point out the obvious..

this is my point if we can work out how we run it through a server on all regions as a community.Everyone can use it instead of the hassle people who cant do it are having. If we get it set up then connecting will be easy. We know that it can be done remotley iam in england and have just connected to the lad in ireland charles just needs tweeking a little

I didnt quote on the main post.
The comment said if you patch the update file you do not need to do the Charles trick, you just have full PSN access which isnt true.

I agree and thought this was obvious but the guy has not read up properly as he says, I was just telling him the info.

I see what you're saying, and theoretically you could do that, but there is one slight problem.

I am in AU, so I could open up ports etc. to my server which has the txt file and then set my primary DNS to my external IP and the secondary to 8.8.8.8 (Google)

Charlie would still be set up the same way, except it is filtering traffic coming in externally as well as internal requests, and sending it to the text file on my server. However, this file is actually the Australian links (on my server), so it would work for Australians, but it needs changes for other regions as well.

I have three PS3s around my house, one at my sister's house and my son has one which I bought so I could easily try this, but unfortunately my son upgraded to 3.56 and I dont know the status of the one at my sisters, so it may make things too difficult to trial in a controlled environment.

I thought that AU were the same as EU? Setting up a updatelist.txt and charles with all regions won't be a problem but setting up the DNS might

If your connection was quick enough the DNS would be okay. It'd filter everything from the PS3 through that computer though. I wouldn't want to use a public service though, because they'll have your external IP address as well, and heaven knows what they'll do with that. All you need is for Sony to be controlling the service and you have given them a window into all you are doing.

AU is different;

    # AU
Dest=89;CompatibleVersion=0000bc25-;
Dest=89;CompatibleSystemSoftwareVersion=3.5100-;

I understand what you are saying. However we all used to use the old public DNS without problems. If we could set this up it would definitley be set up not to log anything
