Yup you have to set up the Data transfer utility

Just so I'm straight on this, I have 2 PS3s one is currently being reformatted back to "Day 1" or factory defaults in the hopes that I can just update my 3.55 OFW and then overwrite it with the 3.55 CFW.

So this one PS3 should in theory have the 3.55 with patches on it and nothing else, so given the above mentioned statements I am to assume that I can just use the data transfer utility from my newly formatted and CFW 3.55 machine to my standard 3.56 machine and I will have patches and be able to get online to use them?...

I am asking because I am exploring all avenues and solutions before doing anything other then uploading the OFW and CFW 3.55.

Thanks for any feedback!
