I'm using You must login or register to view this content. as my firmware.
I installed the original psid changer, that is for 3.41, Then i went and converted the following file to work with 3.55 via PKG builder by brown muffin, It's working for me...

Now if you do get it working heres how you use it!!

Source of tut: You must login or register to view this content.[ps3-src]-psidpatch-1-0-a-70709/

1. Install the the You must login or register to view this content.
2. Run it obviously.
3. Create a text file called psid.txt on root of your USB
4. Put 32 hex characters inside (e.g. 1234567890ABCDEFFEDCBA0987654321)
5. Select USB with Up/Down (dev_usb###)
6. patch it... ( press X while you have the correct selected usb!)

Thats the same error and it doesn't change your PSN ID. PSN automatically restores your PSN to what it originally was. It doesn't do anything.

okay you get that error because you need to put a psid.txt on the root of your usb drive, so create psid.txt on root of your drive, then write up a 32 hex number, and then save. When it asks where the psid.txt is coming from make sure u hit the up and down arrows to select the appropriate usb mine happens to be usb006 so i hit up 6 times and that brought usb000 to usb006 (if u don't know what ur usb name is look in comgenie file manager and it'll tell u the number.) then you hit x and it viola it is supposed to change it and says its patched but my psid remains the same soo yeah i left it at that.

Can’t trickshot me!
this will work as in run on 3.55 because it has been converted, but it will not work as in change psn id because it was made for 3.41 wich at that time our id was stored 0x800000000044A18C since then theres been alot of updates so files have moved sizes have changed and so have addresses meaning our id will not be at that location anymore! we would need to find out were are psn id is stored on 3.55 and make amends
quote:
""PSID starts at 0x800000000044A18C in memory (3.41), it is 16 bytes long.""

sorry to burst your bubble mate but thanks for tryin

ps, i forgot to add: be very carefull with things like this you dont no whats at that address now and its patchin it wen u run it, so you could be patching something important and it could have bricked your ps3! be carefull when porting homebrew tools from 3.41 to 3.55, hope this helped

okay so since it works on 3.55 now all that is needed is to discover the new location in memory? correct?
