Text Tutorial

  1. On your PS3, install "dev_blind.pkg" like you would any other package file. Run it. Press "O" to "go back" and then choose the "Yes" option.
  2. Run OpenPS3FTP.
  3. On your PC, start up FileZilla & connect to your PS3.
  4. Navigate to...
        /dev_blind/data/cert
    

    ...and then rename "CA24.cer" to "CA24.cer.bak".
  5. Upload the "CA24.cer" certificate from the filepack, and upload that to your PS3 via FileZilla FTP. If asked to overwrite, do so.
  6. Exit FileZilla on your PC. Exit OpenPS3FTP on your PS3.
  7. On your PS3, go to...
    If WIRED:
        Settings -> Network Settings -> Internet Connection Settings -> Custom -> Wired -> Auto-Detect -> Manual -> Set your Primary DNS as your PC's IP address -> Set your Secondary DNS to "8.8.8.8"
    

    If WIRELESS:
        Settings -> Network Settings -> Internet Connection Settings -> Custom -> Wireless -> Scan (choose your wireless connection) -> Enter in your wireless info (SSID, access key, etc.) -> Manual (IP address setting) -> Set your Primary DNS as your PC's IP address -> Set your Secondary DNS to "8.8.8.8"
    

  8. Save your settings.
  9. Reset your PS3 (turn it off, then back on again).
  10. On your PC, start FūckPS3.
  11. On your PS3, sign into the PSN.

Long story short: setting up a static IP prevents that all together.

They should use a static IP that won't be taken, a private IP so only your network can access most people's home's have private IPs in the 192.168.1.X range

It keeps asking me to update. I think it might have somthing to do with that when i was trying the old way through charles my ps3 never showed up in charles is this the problem ? if it is can someone plz help ?

i just keep getting 80710A06 ERROR code yes my ps3 & pc have a static ip i am not a noob in this area and i have followed ur tut exactly & yes i went to /dev_blind not /dev_flash any help & could you possibly do it for me via team viewer

Nice tut, very easy to follow. +rep'd

I only recently wanted to try and go online after seeing so many tuts being put up and I wanted to try it. I chose this one.

The problem is, I keep getting prompted to update, what is the reason for it? I've went through everything 3 times, and the cert transferred over fine. Has anyone found the solution to this yet?

i get an error from PSN F.ck

Head /update/ps3/image/eu ....

and ps3 a system update is required
