We have been served with some of the popular emulators in the scene since the first jailbreak arrived to the PS3 last year. The likes of PS3SX, SNES9x PS3 proved the extent of what the community driven (homebrew) app developers could bring to us. Well, here they are, i present you the crunchy emulating list for the PS3.

The first PS3 emulator in the scene, SNES9x PS3 is an SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) emulator based on SNES9x. With it you can play SNES games on your PS3 on 480p/576p/720p/1080p resolutions. Just recently the developer has added a separate HD version downloads of the emulator.

The UAE emulator that was released back in 1996 emulates the hardware of Commodore Amiga 500/1000/2000. For the PS3 version port, it was compiled with PSL1GHT SDK, making it a legal homebrew application for your PS3.

This could be the greatest emulator yet for the PS3 but PS3SX emulator, which is a port from PCSX, reportedly to having some issues for running PS1 backup games. Nothing has been heard from the developer of this project after he released his PS3SX source code last month.

The NDS3 will be adapted from the available base on the PC emulator (DeSmuME) and make it more compatible with the PowerPC architecture of the PS3 console. Now, in the latest version of Anonymous’s work, the emulator is capable of using the console’s CPU to play the 3D games at ease.

Another project announced on December last year, to take the role CCS64. CCS64 is a Commodore 64 Emulator for PC developed in 1995. The C64 itself has been quite popular in the 80′s.

Yes, you read it right. A Dolphin emulator for the PS3, as we all already know the emulator is capable of emulating Gamecube and Wii games on the PC. Soon, i hope, we can fully taste it on our favorite console.
