To quote Sony:
"To avoid this, consumers must immediately cease use and remove all circumvention devices and delete all unauthorized or pirated software from their PlayStation 3 systems."
I know they are giving us a chance here, but I am curious that the alteration of the CA24.cer certificate of the PS3 will give me/us problems in the future. It's a stupid thing really, as I didnt know that I have to backup MY original CA24.cer certificate. However, I have downloaded the official CA24.cer I've found in another thread.
My question is, if I deleted all my apps/games from my PS3 and restored it to its OFW, will the CA24.cer certificate be rewritten by the update? Or must I copy the official CA24.cer I got from someone else to my PS3 before restoring it to OFW? (I'm just afraid that the CA24.cer is uniquely written for each PS3 system)
Thank you all very much
what would that have to do with it if you did modify it as long as yoou replace it with the original you should be fine
if you reformat and then update it will be identical to a brand new ps3 this may put the new CA24 ON THERE(not sure)
steps go to system settings> format utility> format drive
after this is done install 3.56 i reccomend from a usb drive (you can find the update on
You must login or register to view this content. this is the official ps site
