Post: help 3.55 downgrade in Factory/SERVICE

Im following this tut: You must login or register to view this content. / files
Ok my 3.55 fat ps3 is in recovery and when i turn it off and plugin
my usb drive thats not formatted cause i got my games on it
into the second usb slot and turn it on
it shows the icon and my usb loads for a bit,
and then it just starts up ps3 like normal back into recovery menu
i got file 1 lvl2diag.self in root as well as the update.watever file that was included in that download of this thread.
i further more go into system settings and it still says 3.55.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

can i ask, why are you even downgrading from 3.55, i would leave it there. you can get on the psn with the work around and still play online and play backed up games.
i went down from 3.55 to 3.41 modifed, and now i cant get back up, id think twice about doing this. if you havent already done, it. anywho
if you still wanna do this.
you need a pspjig, its like those usb dongles that they seel for hacking and downgrading only now you can do what they do but using a psp, they got the files and tutori\als on how to do it on ps3-hax site.
after you do that and get into factory/service mode, and you see the screen that says that. just turn it off and unplug it from the back
then put in a formatted usb flash drive(format to FAT32)
and put only 2 files in there. : the update file and the file from the folder named FILE1 (lv2diag or something )
put that in the usb port closest to the cd drive
then plug in the power cord from the back
and then press the power button
the flash drive will light up, then the hard drive light will flash twice i think, then the green light will start to blink a couple of times
after about 3 minutes or so, it will turn off automatically.
Unplug it, take out the usb flash drive, then plug it back in,
then turn it on by pressing power,
it will load into the factory/service mode, check to see what firmware your on.
if your on the desired firmware. good. turn it off.
then delete the files from flash drive.
put in file from folder named FILE2,
and only that file!!!!!
put it in the usb port of ps3. turn ps3 on normally
it will turn on ,then turn off
unplug again, take out flash drive.
then plug in again and turn on, and thats it!!
go through normal ps3 set up. and thats it.
