You might be putting it in the wrong place, or it's just named wrong, what are the original boot sounds that come with the PS3 called?

Yes, but did you rename them to the EXACT same things as the normal ones? They need to be, the PS3 looks for files of that exact filename.

cause i duno it only says rename the converted file to coldboot_stero.ac3 anot not coldboot_multi.ac3 on another site. i made a copy and renamed the other one to coldboot_multi.ac3

First of all, there should be only TWO files of yours that you want to replace the originals with, named the same thing as the originals:

coldboot_stereo.ac3
coldboot_multi.ac3

Secondly, make sure BOTH files are trimmed under 8 seconds long or the PS3 will not play them. Hope I helped.

It doesn't matter what another site says, rename them to EXACTLY as you found the real ones that come with the PS3, or it WON'T work dude. The PS3 looks for EXACTLY that file name lol .
