me being the lazy person i am didnt upgrade to 3.56 in time before the bans were issued. for the record the ps3 on the cfw has not upgraded to 3.56 yet which means it is not console banned yet.

my qestion is if i dont care about the saves on the ps3 can i restore it?
would restoring the ps3 delete the cfw like it was never there?
if not what are my options?

Ok, you are acting like the firmware is stored on the HDD of your PS3. If you want to get rid of CFW for what-ever reason, simply update to 3.55 OFW from sony, then do what ever you want.

Remember, that once you go to 3.56, there is no going back unless you try that supposed brick method...

Instead of restoring your ps3 just update it.

You can restore it but it will not erase CFW, you will have to put OFW.
