Post: Can't Bypass Update
03-03-2011, 05:16 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); PS3 is currently on 3.55, jailbroken with KMEAW CFW.

I've replaced both CA24 & CA27 using "dev_blind" & "Comgenie's Awesome File Manager".

I've spoofed the system to 3.56 using "3.56 Version Spoofer".

I've wiped history, made history read only & cleared web history using "PSNinja_v4".

I've tried both f*ckPSN & the charles method to no avail, it would appear no matter what I do PSN can tell I'm on 3.55.

Also, I ran an internet connection test on the PS3 and I was told both my DNS & internet connectivity are fine but I failed to connect to PSN. After doing said test I can connect to the internet on my PS3 just fine, as well as connect to PSN only for it to tell me to update. After it's told me to update the PS3's web browser no longer connects to the internet, until I run another connection test.

WTF? Help me? :embarrassed:

P.S. I read somewhere I have to accept the ToS despite the fact I'm bypassing, is this true? I'm such a noob lol Claps Oh and +90 rep for help :bro:

Using both 0.5 modded and regular with same results, only the 1 computer and PS3 connected to the router.

I've only quickly had a look at other comments so bear with me on repeats.

Alright, I had your issue before, Have a search on the forums for the backup original certificates, grab them and replace your modded ones on your ps3.(yes im making you start from scratch.. sorry)

Alright now restart ps3 and then replace the cert27 with the modded one, ONLY the cert27.

I know uv probably checked a milllion times now but jump on you pc, open up command prompt and type "ipconfig" and write the ip addy into your ps3 in internet settings as the DNS primary, leave secondary as 0.0.0.0 (thats google)

Dont bother about testing connection normally doesnt work.

Now in saying that, to make it work, first have your ps3 turned off.
Next jump onto your computer and exit any other programs you have up,(yes including internet explorer) then start up fukpsnv0.5 (i use the original v0.5).

The program should say it is listening, It shouldnt be doing anything else, if it is, that means there is a program accessing the internet, (bittorrent was screwing with mine before).. Now turn on your ps3,

As your ps3 turns on, activity on f*kpsn should be evident, IF NOT you have entered the wrong ip addy.

Other wise it should sign in after bout 20seconds.

As I turned the PS3 on there was no activity whatsoever in f*ckPSN, and I got a DNS error on the PS3.

They're also using exactly the same IP address.

Oh and I followed the whole tutorial you posted precisely, still nothing :(

P.S. I then put the secondary DNS back to how it was, this time I didn't get a DNS error but I was prompted to update again :FU:

Alright your making progress believe it or not.

ALRIGHT that means your ps3 is not connecting to your ps3, hence no activity,

So I do think you may have entered the incorrect ip addy, I know you most probably think you have the correct one, but theres definately an issue there...

I just realised something.. are you doing this wireless? like ps3 wireless to router and computer wireless to router?

That is my set up.

If your doing this by cable.. When you check ipconfig in cmd, make sure you look at the correct ip, should be the ethernet adapter, or if your wireless, make sure you choose wireless adapter ip addy.

Another idea i have for this is go download the ps3DNS.. run that and see what ip address is says to input.

Plus what is the secondary DNS you are entering? The secondary needs to be a static address, hence choosing google (0.0.0.0) or something. Smile

I'm wired, and using the same IP address that PS3-GUI tells me.

I've also tried numerous different things for the secondary DNS but for some reason 0.0.0.0 always gave me a DNS error, if I remember rightly 8.8.8.8 did work though.

Well because that is one of the basics of networking:
Every device connected to the same (v)lan must have a unique IP

So I'll try to write down again:

PS3:
IP adres: Unique in the same SUBNET as your PC and ROUTER
Subnet: SAME as your PC and ROUTER (mostly 255.255.255.0)
Gateway: the IP of your ROUTER
Primary DNS: IP adress of the PC running charles or f...psn
Secondary DSN : IP adress of the PC running charles or f...psn

But if f*ckPSN is gonna modify my connection to PSN then isn't it gonna need to use the same IP address? If not then talk with tazzi, because you're both saying very conflicting things and I'm confused :jim:

Nah Nah we are saying the same thing, except he is saying to put the secondary dns as your computers again, not sure why but give it a go. I had to give a few different secondarys before one worked... 8.8.8.8 doesnt work for me (just tried) so may vary for people i guess.

Edit* I see how this back and forth chatter between two threads is confusing, im going to make a video with my phone of everything i do Smile
