I think my warranty with Sony is over. But I still got one more year with Wal-Mart if that helps.

Alright thank you. I've emailed Sony right now and told them that I plan on subscribing to Playstation Plus and extending my warranty to three more months. I told them that it stopped reading disks and I got the YLOD. Now I am awaiting for their reponse. Thank you once again. I'll PM you when they reply!

get your hdd out and bang it on a hard surface it will corrupt it i did it and the guy said he'd give me a new one and hitting it with a hammer is obvious

just wait for the next Firmeware update and if it start to install just shut down ps3... and send it to sony...
