I also want to sync trophies ive gotton from backups before i format my ps3 though. how can i bypass the update, sync trophies than go to OFW 3.56?

You need to bypass it. Search the Exploits and Hacks area and you may find a method to do so. If you bypass, you can't go to the 3.56 official firmware. Either you update to 3.55 official firmware and then update to 3.56 official firmware, or you bypass it. I'm sorry, I don't know the the sync method as I have never tried it.

You can use fukpsn.. it's extremely easy also, you just need to have a
PC and your PS3 running on the same network
