Yes but I think what people are trying to say is erm well you can download PSX games from internet and play them?
I have no idea if custom firmware 3.55 lets you play or not as last time I played a PSX game was on my PSP with the M33 CFW :/

No it does not the 60gb and some 80s are backwards compatible and when u look in the files with multiman u see ps1 emu and ps2 emu and psp emu but you cannot utilize them it will crash the system and i am using a modded epsxe emulator which i believe is ps3sx and it works on my 3.55kmeaw i will post pics tomorrow later of it working but i wanted to know if someone updated it so i can use more games

no, you're wrong.
the ps3 has a ps1 emulator built into every console made,
you're thinking of a ps2 emulator, which is only used in 60gb.

backwards compatible to ps2 games EVERY ps3 plays ps1 tho.

You can play PS1 games on the PS3 plus MGS is available on the PSN.
