ps3 doesnt recognize NTFS file system. Use this software(its a direct link to zip file) You must login or register to view this content. to format your hdd to FAT32.
Windows cant do that if its above 4GB so use that application. Its freeware, no trial. Best app.

Hm maybe ps3 only can see 500GB...
Resize the external hdd and make a fat32 partition of around 400GB, just to see if it finds it Winky Winky

EDIT;; After its formated to fat32, make a folder called MUSIC and put a mp3 in it

I did everything u told me too but it still dont work
Do u think that it dont work since im using a ps3 controller charger?
I lost original usb to HDD but since the thing that charges controller fits i use that... U think that is the reason?

Could be, i got a 5meter usb for my controller which doesnt load it, and my original 1meter cable charges my controllers just fine... But i doubt it since the HDD works on your pc...

You still got waranty? If so, stop reading of not, continue :P

Take the HDD out of its housing (if its a 2.5" SATA laptop kinda drive) and place it in your ps3 and reformat it and see what happens...

Imma try it out for you with the controller cable and see if my ps3 recognizes mine... Just a sec.

EDIT;; Hm k i tried this:
Original HDD cable - Works
5 Meter cable for ps3 - Works
1 Meter cable that comes with the ps3 - Works.

So thats not your problem...
