If you can get a ps3 on 3.55 get it!!
There's multiple ways to bypass and go online on this forum and many on google. I believe there's a CFW which you install and works online. Sony will probably soon patch it though.

There are many ways, that are easy also to get onto PSN on 3.55, including charles web proxy, fukPSN, naima CFW, that 3.6 Spoof thing and probably a few others.

It depends what you're able to do really, but I suggest ****PSN personally, as if sony started banning for bypassing the updates you would appear as a 100% legit 3.56/3.60 firmware user.
