Hex editing won't do any good without the encryption key. Why? Well each hex character has two digits. 16*16=256 Thats the number of different combinations that can stand for a letter or number. And looking at the .pfd file from fallout. Each on is used quite a bit. And I see a few combinations of common letters such as a repeat of DD or etc. Im going to take a screen shot though and try and find more on it during freetime in school.

Well tried and tested method of decrypting is looking for patterns. I cod5 for example i renamed all my Classes different letters eg custom class 1 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA custome class2 BBBBBBBBBBBB thats a good way to look at how its written.
