Nope, no one has ever reported a brick from updating from cfw. Also, I did and nothing happened. You'll be fine updating from cfw.

well ur titles wrong. its ofw 3.60. all you gotta do is follow this video. basicly make a folder in your usb drive named "PS3" than another inside "PS3" named "UPDATE". after making these two folders drag the update in the "UPDATE" folder and your usb is ready. Now go to your ps3 and put it in recovery mode and select system update. just put in your usb and follow the on screen steps

After you do this just update the normal way

Best and safest way is download 3.55 OFW and install it via usb. Then update to 3.60.

for sure it will brick. not a good method
