Post: Need help!!!

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys, I need some help from a dev. I recently unpacked the 3.60 update with fail0verflow's tools and need help to further unpack it to be able to look at it. Here is what I know so far:

1. How to use pupunpack and fail0verflow's tools on Linux
2. I have extracted update_files.tar into a folder named Update Files
3. Sony has changed their encryption method on the private keys, so fail0verflow's formula no longer works.

What I would like to learn:

1. How to fully unpack, mod, then sign a CFW
2. Where the keys are located (all of them) so we can decrypt them

I am familiar with VB.NET, C++ and C# and am willing to learn about these updates. I would greatly appreciate it if someone were to PM me and help me out. Thanks so much guys. Happy

There is no encryption or keys for unpacking lmao, looks like team blizzard have been bullshitting you since they have no idea.

I can get everything unpacked in less than a minute using kakarotoks and fail0verflows tools, there's no encryption on it lol.

The private keys aren't located anywhere and can't be found by anything in the firmware, if it was I would have made 3.60 CFW a long time ago.

My advice for you is give up lol, you have literally no idea and people have been feeding you their ignorant bullshit.

If you really, really want to do something then create your own 3.41 or 3.55 CFW, just have a debug 3.41 and an official 3.41 and work from there, you should be able to do it in like 10 minutes if you have any idea of what you're doing, just unpack dev_flash then open category_game.xml and make a spot for install package files, then go to the debug FW and get the install package files commands like what it actually does, put that in the OFW where it was in the debug firmware.

Then just sign as official and try it yourself.

Thanks, but I don't think you understood what I said. I know there obviously is no encryption on unpacking the update lol thats just dumb. I meant the encryption on the keys. And I know the keys are not in the update, I believe they can be found in packets exchanged between your PS3 and PSN. Thanks, but I still need to figure out how to fully unpack everything. I appreciate you trying to help though Happy

and that's what he answered. You can't fully unpack the 3.60 firmware. Figure out how sign a firmware, then you would just use pup pack from fail overflow. Although it won't sign on 3.60 because we have no 3.60 keys. None. Not even decryption. So I suggest you get ride of that fake team on your sig lolHappy

Alright, thee only updates that can be completely unpacked is 3.55 or below. 3.56 idk but 3.60 we can't touch. To make a 3.55 cfw is a different story lol. And takes too long to explain on a question thread.

What do you mean? Everything that is there to be unpacked can be unpacked by those tools.

Not all files are a package type of file where it stores other files lol, I assume you're trying to 'unpack' .self files, they aren't a package type of file, just because the file isn't readable in notepad or something like that doesn't mean its like that, just that it's not in anything readable to a human.

Believe what you want to believe but you're talking to someone who made the worlds 2nd public CFW, after kakarotoks and before geohot .

On my normal PC on the desktop I have the 3.60 and 3.56 fully unpacked in their own folders.

Ok, lets see here. What I have done a while ago was unpack 3.60 with pupunpack by fail0verflow and I got it unpacked. I then extracted update_files.tar into a folder I named "Update Files". After extracting update_files.tar, I get multiple .pkg files, RL_FOR_PACKAGE.img, RL_FOR_PROGRAM.img, a .xml.pkg file, and multiple dev_flash files with a .tar.aa.2011_03_04_024232 extension. What do I do??? lol

Use unpkg and or ungpkg on the .pkg files, try unpkg first and if that doesn't work use ungpkg and they all should be extracted.

And extract the other .tar extension thing with 7zip.. img files.. who knows, try and get into it with 7zip or winrar and if that doesn't work then who knows, its most likely completely useless for what you're trying to do.
