We all know about how if you put in a lower FW then what is on it comes up with a error! Well I would like to know if it was possible to recode what ever is holding us back from doing that so we could load up lower firmwares!

What do you think about this? Possible or No?

No flaming please:p

3.69 won't recognize lower firmware keys.

Well, firstly a LITTLE flame. As we are just simple people, the devs think of this stuff WAY before it crosses our minds, that's why they are smarter then us in this situation.

Before the keys were changed this probably was possible, but now its like we are playing with a Playstation 4 trying to put a playstation 3 firmware on it, Ya know the whole keys being new and all.

The ps3 3.60 can only recognize it's own decryption keys when it looks for a firmware. We don't have the encryption keys so we can't encrypt the firmware to be decrypted by the ps3

I have a theory but I'm not willing to risk a PS3 for it :carling:

I get what you are saying.
I thinks it updates and takes away the things the real updates put it.
Why can't we make our own keys?

We can't make out own keys because the ps3 won't recognize it. It needs to use the decryption keys it already has, to decrypt the next firmware.

I'll use an example, 3.56 made, 3.60 was made after 3.56. 3.60 was encrypted using 3.56 encryption keys so It could be decrypted using 3.56 decryption keys. If we used random keys for 3.60 then 3.56 wouldn't be able to decrypt it since the keys don't match.
