OVER 9000!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Alright guys, I assume most of you have seen my thread where I am offering the service of protecting your PSN's from being exploited and or stolen via the new rebug CFW, and I've decided to post a full tutorial for anyone that may not trust me, despite me being here for about 2 years and trustworthy.

The exploit is that someone makes a PSN with exactly the same name on the alternate PSN and then gains access to your stuff.

I am also posting it since It is getting late where I am, and I won't be able to deal with all requests as I sleep, so others can do it for fellow NGU members.

Before we start, this is what you may need or have to do.
1) All the basics, PS3, Internet access on PS3 etc.

2) A USB keyboard (OPTIONAL)

2) A 3.55 PS3 with rebug CFW installed, if you don't already have it, you can get it at You must login or register to view this content..

To install it put it on a USB make the filesystem on it as /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP. If you already know how to do this, just skip the next few lines.

The file will not come named as PS3UPDAT.PUP, so rename it to that and put it in the UPDATE folder which is in the PS3 folder.

This is what the folder should look like if done correctly

You must login or register to view this content.
Upon doing this eject your USB and plug it into your PS3 then navigate to the settings column then go to the System Update option, after this select update via storage media and it will recognise the firmware on the USB, update using that.

[multipage=Tutorial]
1. Alright, now you're ready to set your PS3 up to connect to the alternate PSN, to do this you'll need to go to the settings column on the PS3 xmb then scroll right down to the very bottom and select debug settings, after you open this go down a few options to NP environment, open that and delete whatever is there and type in sp-int then restart your PS3.

If done correctly it should be like this;

You must login or register to view this content.
2. Once you restart your PS3 go to the settings column on the far left of the PS3 XMB once again, but this time once you do that go down to network settings, set the first option as Custom, then wired or wireless, depending on what you use, then select manual for IP address settings, in the next area set your usual IP's and default gateways, but in the DNS box put 67.202.81.137.

It should look like this, but the IP's will be different;
(Open spoiler to see the picture)
You must login or register to view this content.

3. Now scroll over to the far right to the Playstation Network Column, here you'll want to go to Sign up for Playstation Network, just fill it out with random info until you get to the username, in this area you'll want to put whatever PSN you want to be protected from being exploited and or stolen. Then just fill out the rest and accept it all.

Congratulations, your PSN is now fully protected from the exploit, and you can also play with your main account whilst on 3.55!

If you are unable to do this for any reason, feel free to send me a PM and I can do it for you.

I would have made the tutorial a lot easier and better, but my HD PVR I ordered last week hasn't arrived yet unfortunately.

There is an exploit that has been recently found that it makes it possible to steal PSN's and mess around with stats on games etc.. This is the way to protect your PSN from it.

Basically on rebug CFW you can connect to an alternate PSN and sign up on it, so they sign up as the same name as your PSN on the normal playstation network and then they can exploit it to get your normal PSN account, game stats etc.
