No luck just continues stay black

Weird, I've never encountered this problem or know of a way to fix it but I'll have a look around and try to find it out.

It might have something to do with video settings being reset on the PS3 during the update, if I remember correctly it says something about holding the power button on the PS3 until it turns off and it will reset it until it works for you, try that a few times and if not look in the PS3 manual if you still have it, you can find them online on the sony site also.

To use it you just need to have put it on your USB properly.. an example of it done properly looks like this;

Make sure the file is named PS3UPDAT.PUP in all caps and the folders are in all caps also.

Gola I need your thought on this. Okay so I went on YouTubeand watched a tutorial from someone name ChrisTechTV and he had 3.55 OFW in the description. So i downloaded it and put it on a SD card an updated via usb. But in the tutorial he said to put ps3 in safemode (hold down power button till it cuts on then goes back to standby mode and hold it again till you hear two beeps right after each other.) But I couldnt get my ps3 in that mode idk if its cause the firmware it was on before(2.40 or somthing like that) and didn't have at that time. But after I updated via usb to 3.55 OFW when I cut it on it stays black. Do you think its bricked or how I can fix it o_0 ?[/QUOTEh

hey sorry to butt in, but i might know what ur problem might be.. the system probably reseted itseld to default meaning your audiou n video. So if u were running a HDMI output put your normal yellow red white back on n it might work again.. i've gtten that problem 2 times now.. lol if ur doing a OFW no need to put it on safe mode.. do it straight from ur XMB BAR... hope that HELPS AND GOOD LUCK... :angel:

alright i tried it and it dont work, lol i'm tryin to do it from my android netbook but it doesnt xtract it only unzips. zip. files not rar. files... lol too bad my PC is down. is there anyway to copy the PUP file thats installed already with the comgenies file manager? on my jailbroken ps3 its running on kmeaw CFW.. ya i know ur thinking why u tryn to jailbreak again? loo well cause its only a 40GB n i wanted to put my 500GB which i did but i was only abl to do the OFW..

Just going to come in here, its ether your HDMI/AV settings have reset. You can fix that by hard booting the PS3. Also though if there no beeping or anything, is everything normal just no screen is shown?
