(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have a 120 GB slim PS3.

The Blu-Ray drive will read everything but Blu-Rays.

It will on occassion read Blu-Rays but very rarely.

What are the odds of me cleaning the lense and it reading them.

It will read everything else so I figure it wasn't a dirty lense.

I basically don't wanna pay to have my ps3 fixed (new blu-ray drive or sending it to Sony for 106$)

Has anyone else had that exact problems fixed by cleaning ps3 and lense?

I already tried the recovery menu option.

another question..

I don't have my own reciept for my PS3, but what if I got a friends 120GB slim reciept and said it was mine.

Would that work?

Some ppl have used, windex (or any window cleaner) mostly I use rubbing alcohol which usually does the trick.

the laser is out of line, there is a simple way to fix it which involves turning a few screws inside the console Smile use Google.

I can either wait and try and get a friend reciept or open it and cleaning it

If I open it and cleaning the lense doesn't work, I basically don't have a ps3 anymore.

When I put a game in the it makes the eject shuffling noise type thing.

course u will have a ps3 mate

i ripped my ps3 apart and and completly gutted my bluray drive

ripped the casing off my bluray with a pair of pliers because i cudnt find a screwdriver lol

the security screw what is covered by the VIOD sticker i ddnt even unscrew that and i could still take my ps3 casing off without undoing it

works fine now the ps3 apart from my bluray but i got cfw so i can still play games

it does bug u though

I'VE GOT JUNGLE FEVER
I have cleaned my laser when the drive wouldn't read bluerays as a last resort, it worked for about 2 weeks then went back to not reading again. I'd only suggest you do it if you are good with things like this and have enough patience.
