You MUST download the RETAIL .pkg that came WITH the socom download in the "PATCH" folder: BEFORE you can update to 1.02 as prompted when launching Socom:4

If you change your debug np environment to 'sp-int' and then you load up Socom 4: Put your DNS settings:
Primary: PC's IP
Secondary: 8.8.8.8

Login to Socom 4: Multiplayer:
You connect play on the NORMAL PSN SERVERS:
ALL the people you meet you can not add' it comes bacK as:
"The playstation network ID you entered is incorrect" ect...


You CANT play ANY of the CUSTOM GAME modes it says
"You do not have access to this" (some sort of error like this)

**You also CANT play the 'Abandoned' game mode'

Ill see if theres a way to play these game modes and report back soon..

*If you havent downloaded Socom 4: yet, this game (full) is a whopping 22+GB!
There is a repacked 8.9GB version but people are reporting back errors. I am using the 22 GB version and it works perfect.

You don't need to do this, it works fine with all network settings set to automatic.

Do the following to get the game size down from 21GB to 16GB:

Go to the game location & delete the following folders:

PS3_UPDATE
PS3_CONTENT
PKGDIR (Inside PS3_GAME)

Hey do you know why everytime i start charles im getting "failed to find java VM."

i looked it up said to install java both 32 and 64bit, and i did yet it still being gay lol.

Maybe you need to restart the PC. I have a cracked charles I will try to find and upload for you.

Socom 4 MP is too addictive. Too many noobs on this game stay behind & get 40-60 kills in one match cuz headshots is really easy on this game.
& if you're a fan of MAG, Socom 4 = MAG 2

Actually those that stay back camping are the easiest because they're stationary. Just flank and get them and angles/blindspot. As long as you're moving, they wont hit shit.

Listen if you want to play socom 4 together let me know. I'm RISKBREAKER. Also, when the 3.60 keys are released, let me know when you want to play Operation Flashpoint Red River. I only want to play that game in co-op.

do u guys still play with this method? because i set my rebug console to sp-int , then run socom 4 with multiman.. so when i start the game it asks me for the 1.02 update... if i try to update my game screws... if i dont i cant stay online with socom... i also tried PROD-QA servers, in prod-qa socom dont ask me to update but online services are down

any idea?

Click on this link and type in the bles number for the socom 4 game you downloaded and you will get the patch. Download it, put it on your USB flashdrive, install in the package folder on your ps3 and you should be able to update and play online.
