Actually the MAC address has absolutely nothing to do with anything internet related, it comes on the hardware and is impossible to change.

Ohh but if he connects to a different CPU that won't change it? I thought the adress varies with the network you're on, or am I mistaking that for the IP?

Yeah the IP address is to do with the internet, and can and does change with the networks/network settings.

yeah thats IP that changes and is to do with network... the MAC of a PS3 cant be properly changed

Your mac address is built into the system like the console id so unfortunately it cant be changed without buying a new console. sorry, loads of people were trying to find out if they could when they got permabanned from blackops but there isnt a way.
