The reason why you will never extract that gt.vol file is because you need a
special key. All files are encrypt even .png files for the cars that are put on
the PS3's HDD for the cars thumbnails.

I noticed sound files coming from Gran Turismo 5 was very unique to my ears and I wanted to try to extract all the sound files out, except I encountered a problem, the bulk of GT5 Disc is derived from a single source file called from a extension known as .VOL (correct me if I am wrong), this file is a whopping 11+ gb (perhaps it contains also other unwanted files such as textures, models, polywiring sources, etc.) and took me nearly 3-4+ hours on my intel quad core (doesn't matter; got high end), any ways I try to open with RAR but of course doesn't work, so I looked up the common solution to open, which was a third party program called "Dragon UnPacker" that opens up .VOL. I tried to open but it seems to encounter a error stating it is a unknown .vol file?

I am wondering if anyone have found this solution extracting out the sound/music files from GT5?

no, this is not the game soundtrack I am referring to... I am talking about EVERY 268+ Music File in game, not even the game soundtrack has all that nor many of the songs there cannot be download but however like jazz music can be found but not like those lounge music and such

I extracted out music from GT3 and GT4 .vol files but this one seems to needed of special key, I can bypass the encryption but needed of password or special key is a challenge
