-Geohot was the cause of the hacking.
-Anonymous was the cause of the hacking.
-Both Anonymous and Geohot were the cause of the hacking.
-And last that who ever made the debug/rebug firmware for the PS3 was the cause. The reason is because when someone with a debug/rebug firmware buys something on PSN it connects to a random credit card and pays for it.

1. geohot wont hack another sony device ever he has a restraining order or somthing like that.
2. annonymouse where the cause and no they havent taken anyones details thats just sony acting like dickheads.
3. sony made the debug firmware for the playstation and i do believe anyone correct me if ime wrong but the team rebug revers engineered the custom playstations that sony made with the debug firmware and made their own firmware

Ive been told anonymous admited to doing so and i am going to ask quesiton to costomer support of sony through email it will say "Hello I have been getting reports from friends saying someone hacked into the PSN server I just wanted to know who was the culprit behind this. I have heard that it was geohot, anonymous all sorts of stuff but i just want the truth." haha lol should i ask that.

Unlikely, if it was it was only a member of Anonymous, not the entire group as they have stated time and time again they're out to hurt Sony, not the users.

It always connects to the same dummy credit card that PSN will always accept, so no.
