iknow this is a very stupid question but can some answer me plz. atm the only way to modify a ps3 it's with a cfw or a dongle so why we cant do a sort of jtag to a ps3 like for the xbox????
Well the Xbox and PS3 were built differently, so they have different ways of exploiting them. There are ways of exploiting the PS3 hardware like the JTag, but they involve complex soldering and NAND reprogramming which are beyond most users. Also there is great risk of permanently ruining the console. Since most users either don't have the skills to do it or don't have multiple PS3 units, not many have tried with jail breaking the PS3 through hardware mods.

The ps3 has more security levels, and different boot loaders. The xbox was not secured, and just needed a exploit in the NAND dump.
